Foundation stone laying ceremony of UAP tomorrow

The foundation stone laying ceremony of The University of Asia Pacific (UAP), one of the prestigious private universities of the country, will be held tomorrow (Sunday) on its campus at Green Road in the city, according to a press release.
President Md Zillur Rahman has consented to be the chief guest on the occasion.
Chairperson of the board of trustees Engr M Abu Taher and UAP Vice-chancellor Prof Dr Abdul Matin Patwari will deliver their welcome addresses.
All guests including ministers, UGC Chairman, President of Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh, high commissioners and ambassadors, vice-chancellors of the different universities, members of board of trustees, syndicate and academic council members, all members of UAP family are expected to be present on the auspicious occasion.
The proposed building complex of UAP has been conceived with humanist rational idea of light and air for the students, space for the faculty and administrative staff and ease of movement for all users of the complex.
The complex having six elevators and three staircases with more than 0.35 million square foot of floor space, display an urban character-based on architectonic relationships. The building also includes plenty of space for parking cars underground.
