Four Bangladeshi companies will showcase their food products at the four-day FOODEX Japan 2009, the biggest food and beverage exhibition in the Asia Pacific region, starting from today (Tuesday) in Chiba city.
The exhibition is a good opportunity for local companies to introduce their goods to promising Japanese food market. The exposition would inspire other companies to access the untapped Japanese market that imports 60 per cent of its total needs worth US$ 44 billion.
Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), the official Trade & Investment Promotion agency of Government of Japan selected four companies -Bangla Natural Agro Ltd, Miton Sea Foods International, Global Agro Resources Incorporation and Hamdard Laboratories (WAQF) Bangladesh - to take part in the 34th International Food and Beverage Exhibition to be held from March 3 to March 6.
These companies will demonstrate organic agro food products (dry neem leaf, turmeric, guava leaf, chili, tulsi), seafood items (black tiger shrimp, harina shrimp, yellow fin tuna, big eye tuna etc), processed potato items (potato flakes, potato chips, potato starch and French fry etc) and liquid food products (Rooh Afza & Honey) respectively, Tomohiro Kinomoto, representative of JETRO to Bangladesh said Monday.
Bangladeshi companies have been participating in the annual Japan's top trade food and beverage show for the fourth consecutive times.
