Four city mayors enjoy status of state minister

The new mayors of four city corporations will enjoy the status of state minister and other ancillary facilities during their tenure in office. This order will come into effect from the day of taking oath, a government announcement said Tuesday, shortly after the newly elected city fathers were sworn in. Mayor of Khulna Talukder Abdul Khaleq, Mayor of Rajshahi AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, Mayor of Barisal M Shawkat Hossain Hiron and Mayor of Sylhet Badruddin Ahmed Kamran - all from the Awami League - took oath earlier in the day. — UNB
