Four cos with Tk 1b IPOs to be listed with bourses

At least four companies with initial public offerings (IPOs) worth Tk 1.0 billion of are going to be listed on Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) soon.
The companies are Bangladesh Finance and Investment Company Ltd, Phoenix Finance and Investment, International Leasing and Trust Bank Ltd.
Of them, Bangladesh Finance and Investment Company Ltd, a non-banking financial institution (NBFI) is set to make debut on both the stock exchanges September 9, DSE sources said.
The subscription of Bangladesh Finance took place in mid-June to raise Tk 70 million, Phoenix Finance and Investment in late-June to raise Tk 125 million, International Leasing in early July to raise Tk 112.50 million and Trust Bank Ltd in mid-July to raise Tk 700 million.
"We are aware that investors remain very anxious for a pretty long period about the start of trading of the issues. But we could not expedite the listing procedure as the demat process of the shares of the companies took a lot of time," a DSE source told the FE Tuesday.
Bangladesh Finance will be the 14th listed NBFI on the Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittagong Stock Exchange.
The already listed NBFIs are: IDLC, United Leasing, Uttara Finance, MIDAS Financing, First Lease International, People's Leasing, Prime Finance and Investment, Premier Leasing, Islamic Finance and Investment, LankaBangla Finance, Bangladesh Industrial Finance, IPDC and Union Capital.
Meanwhile, the lottery for allotment of shares of Paramount Insurance Co Ltd will be held soon as the subscription of the company shares worth Tk 90 million ended August 2 last.
Besides, the subscription of Repeat Public Offer (RPO) of Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd- Mudaraba Perpetual Bond worth Tk 1.50 billion begins September 12 and closes September 18.
Two more public limited companies -- Fidelity Asset and Securities and Continental Insurance -- have already declared their subscription dates on share floatation.
Both the companies will raise Tk 90 million each between the period of October 28 and November 22 next.
The calendar year has already witnessed floatation of shares worth Tk 2.01 billion by five public limited companies -- ICB AMCL First NRB Mutual Fund, Shahjalal Islami Bank, Golden Son, Premier Bank and Union Capital Ltd.
