Four Ctg WASA officials asked for compensation

CHITTAGONG, Sept 11: Four officials and employees of Chittagong WASA (C'WASA) have been asked to deposit Tk 45,000 as compensation with the fund of the C'WASA for their alleged involvement in under billing practices providing illegal facilities to the subscribers in exchange of financial gains. Chittagong Port magistrate Munir Chowdhury passed the order Sunday.
According to the C'WASA sources, during the ongoing mobile court campaign against pilferage as well as misuse of water, evasion of revenue, similar incidents were unearthed in four organisations located at Dewanhat, DT Road and Gosaildanga areas in the city.
The mobile court held Revenue Officer Md Rafique, Revenue Supervisor Mir Hossain, Meter Inspectors Hasan Chowdhury and Ahsan Chowdhury liable for the incident.
