Four-day BGB-BGP confce starts in city

A four-day conference between Bangladesh and Myanmar border forces began at Peelkhana BGB headquarters in the city on Monday morning, reports BSS.
An 11-member Myanmar's Border Guard Police (BGP) delegation led by Chief of Police General Staff Brigadier General Myo Than joined the conference, said a press release.
Besides, a 15-member Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) delegation led by Additional Director General Brigadier General Md Anisur Rahman also joined the event.
High officials of Home and Foreign Ministries and Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) are among Bangladeshi delegation apart from BGB officials.
The agenda of the conference includes prevention of smuggling of contraband drugs, and stopping intrusion of Myanmar nationals in Bangladesh.
A 'Joint Record of Discussions (JRD)' will be signed on July 12 on the last day of the conference.
