Four die as minibus collides head-on with microbus

MOULVIBAZAR, Oct 20: A minibus and a microbus collided head-on near BSCIC industrial area on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway Saturday afternoon, killing four on the spot and injuring 20 others. Local sources said the Habiganj-bound microbus collided head-on with the minibus coming from opposite direction at about 3:30pm, killing four microbus passengers on the spot. The deceased were identified as Champa, 22, Jewel, 35, Jonab Ali, 30, and Rukhsana Akhter Lubna, 18. All the victims hailed from Habiganj. Of the injured, six were admitted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital in critical condition while the others to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital. The microbus passengers were going back home in Habiganj after visiting their relatives in Moulvibazar. — UNB
