Lorry-easybike collision kills two in Chuadanga

Six persons were killed in separate road accidents in Brahmanbaria and Chuadanga districts on Monday, reports UNB.
In Brahmanbaria, four people were killed and three others injured when a covered van hit a parked CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Sohagpur bus stand in Ashuganj upazila of Brahmanbaria district on Monday.
The dead are Sohel Mia (27), son of Farid Mia, Jilani (8), son of Nazmul Mia, Askar Mia (60), and Ujjal, son of Rashid Mia of Kishoreganj district.
Akul Chandra Biswas, officer-in-charge of Khatihata Highway Police, said the accident occurred in the afternoon when the covered van hit the stationary CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Shohagpur bus stand, leaving its three passengers dead on the spot and four others injured.
Of the injured, another victim died on the way to Sadar hospital.
The injured were sent to Dhaka for better treatment.
In Chuadanga, two people were killed and six others injured following a collision between a truck and a battery-run easy-bike in Alamdanga upazila of Chuadanga district on Monday morning.
The dead are Sajidur Rahman (55), son of late Atiyar Rahman, and Khairul Islam (40), son of Sheikh Munna of Shibpur village of Gangni union of the upazila.
The accident occurred on Monday morning when the fish-laden truck collided with the easy bike on the Alamdanga-Gangni regional road in Hatboalia area, leaving the duo, including the driver of the easy bike, dead on the spot and six injured.
The injured were rescued and taken to Alamdanga Upazila Health Complex and Kushtia General Hospital, said Biplab Kumar Nath, officer-in-charge (OC) of Alamdanga thana.
Police recovered the bodies and kept those at the Health Complex, added the OC.
Police seized the truck but its driver and helper managed to escape.
