Four die in road accidents in 2 dists

At least four people were killed in separate road accidents in Madaripur and Natore districts on Tuesday. Those died in Natore crash were identified as Raju, 22, and Rabiul, 32, while those killed in Madaripur are Abdul Alim, 27, and Abdul Awahid, 37, hailing from Khoksa upazila of neighbouring Kushtia district.
Fuad Ruhani, officer-in-charge of Bonpara Highway Police in Natore said, transport workers Raju and Rabiul were killed in the morning when they were repairing their flubbed truck in Airmari Bridge area of Boraigram upazila of the north-western district. Police and locals said a speeding truck hit the two truckers from behind when they were repairing their truck beside the road, leaving them dead on the spot. Police recovered the bodies and sent those to their respective families.
In Madaripur, Abdul Alim and Abdul Awahid were killed in a head on collision between two trucks at Kamalkandi area on Dhaka-Barisal Highway in Rajoir upazila on Tuesday. Officer-in charge of Rajoir Police Station Anowar Hossain Bhuiyan said a Barisal-bound goods laden truck from Kushtia collided with another truck which was parked on the roadside in Kamalkandi area, leaving the duo dead on the spot. Police recovered the bodies and sent those to Madaripur Sadar Hospital for autopsy, according to a news agency.
