Four die in separate accidents in city

Four people have been killed in separate incidents in Dhaka from Sunday evening to night. Police said the incidents occurred in Mohammadpur, Khilkhet, Kasaibari and Gabtoli areas in the city. A man died from injuries when a pickup van hit his motorcycle from behind at Mohammadpur's Chad Housing area, said Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH)’s Police Outpost Assistant Sub-Inspector Sentu Chandra Das. He said Mizanur Rahman, 50, and 'Nasir', 45, were wounded after the accident. Doctors declared Mizanur Rahman dead after he was rushed to the DMCH, Das added. DMCH Police Outpost Inspector Mozammel Haque said another man was killed under the Khilkhet flyover after a bus ran over him. He said a woman was also killed after being run over by a train at Kasaibari, near the Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport. Police said another woman, named 'Rokhsana', was severely injured when a truck hit the motorcycle she was on from behind at Gabtoli's Sluice Gate around 9:25pm. She died t night while undergoing treatment at the DMCH, according to a news agency.
