Four DU Chhatra Union men injured in ‘BCL attack’

At least four leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra Union were injured in an alleged attack by the activists of DU Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) near the TSC and the VC's home of the Dhaka University, reports UNB.
The incidents took place on Thursday at around 1:30 pm.
The injured are Meghmallar Basu, president of Chhatra Union's Dhaka University unit, General Secretary Main Ahmed, Deputy Secretary of Dhaka city Chhatra Union unit Tajmir Tajwar Shuvro and Shahriar Shihab of private university unit.
The injured were first taken to the BSMMU and later to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital. As Meghmollar Boshu suffered serious injury in his left eye, he was taken to the national eye hospital.
Witnesses said the leaders and activists of the Chhatra Union were having tea at the TSC on Thursday. When they were leaving by a rickshaw, Meghmallar Basu and Shuvro were attacked in Shahbagh area and severely beaten by the BCL activists.
The others were also beaten separately.
Shimul Kumvakar, former president of DU Chhatra Union, said, "our leaders and activists are being attacked without any reason by the leaders and activists of the DU unit Chhatra League."
