Four electrocuted amid heavy rain in city

Four people, including three members of a family, died due to electrocution amid heavy rains in the capital's Mirpur area on Thursday night.
The dead are Md Mizan (30), his wife Mukta Begum (25), and their daughter Lima (7), and Mohammad Anik, (20). They all were residing in the Jhilpar slum of Mirpur Section-2.
The incident took place on the road opposite the Jhilpar slum adjacent to Dhaka Commerce College, around 9:30 pm.
Anik met his tragic end of life when he tried to save the family.
The couple's six-month-old baby boy, who received serious injuries in the incident, was first admitted to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital and later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said an official of the concerned thana.
