Four killed, four injured in separate road mishaps

THAKURGAON, Dec 28 (UNB): Four people were killed and four others injured in separate road mishaps in two districts Thursday.
In Thakurgaon, three people were killed in separate road accidents Thursday.
Sources said Nazmul Haq (55), a sugar mill worker of Pirganj Upazila, was killed as a minibus hit his bicycle at Amtoli under Sadar Upazila. He died on the spot.
Besides, Abdul Hye (45), of Chourongi village of Haripur Upazila was killed as a truck collided with his three-wheeler.
Meanwhile, Amirul Islam (30), was killed and Jewel was injured as a jeep hit them on Thakurgaon-Gorea highway on the same day. They hailed from Daulatpur village under Sadar Upazila.
In Jhenaidah, a microbus driver was killed and four others injured in a road mishap at the Bus Stand area under Kaliganj Upazila Friday.
The deceased was identified as Nintu of Vuteeargati village under Sadar Upazila.
Witnesses said the accident occurred at about 1:00 pm when a bus rammed into a microbus, coming from opposite direction, leaving five people, including the microbus driver, injured.
The injured persons were admitted to the district Sadar Hospital where Nintu died.
Separate cases were filed in this connection with the police station.
