Four killed in Chittagong ship-breaking yard blast

CHITTAGONG, Dec 26 (UNB): At least four workers were killed and 15 others injured in a massive explosion at a ship-breaking yard at Madambibir Haat in Sitakunda Upazila Saturday.
Three of the dead were identified as Selim (25), son of Yakub Ali of Jhalkathi district, Rana Miah (30) of Bogra district and Robiul (30) of Naogaon district. The identities of the other deceased could not be known immediately.
Local sources said the death toll in the explosion "may rise further", as a few others were fighting for their life.
Police and witnesses said a boiler at Rahim Ship-breaking and Steel Yard Limited "suddenly burst into flames" at about 10:30am while the workers were cutting a ship named 'Agate', killing four of them on the spot and injuring 15 others.
On information, the police rushed in and cordoned off the area.
The police recovered the four bodies.
The injured were admitted to the local health complex and different clinics.
