Four killed in separate incidents

SYLHET, Aug 27 (UNB): Four people were killed in separate incidents in Sylhet and Sunamganj districts Friday and Saturday.
In Sylhet two minor boys were killed in separate road accidents at South Surma and Comanyganj upazilas Friday and Saturday.
In South Surma, Raqib Ahmed (7), son of M Shamim Ahmed of Hargari village, was crushed under the wheels of Dhaka-bound inter-city passenger train "Parabat" in Mogla Bazar area while crossing the rail line at about 3:00 pm Saturday.
In Companyganj, another minor boy Abul Hossain (7), son of Intaz Ali of Khagail village, was critically injured when a stone-laden truck ran over him near Khagail Bridge on Sylhet-Bholaganj road at about 4:00 pm Friday.
Local people sent Abul Hossain to Osmani Hospital where he died at night.
In Jakiganj Upazila, a young man drowned in a canal at Nurpur village Saturday afternoon.
Witnesses said Anwar Hossain (32), son of late Tahir Ali of the village, slipped into a canal from a narrow bridge and drowned at about 1:00 pm.
Later, police on information, recovered the body after one hour of frantic effort and sent it to the Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
In Sunamganj, a middle-aged farmer was killed by lightning at Barogolla village under Chhatak Upazila Saturday morning.
