Four killed in separate incidents in Pabna

Our Correspondent PABNA, Oct 11: Four persons including two children and a housewife were killed in separate incidents at two upazilas in Pabna in last 24 hours. Two children drowned in a pond at Gohailbari village in Pabna Sadar upazila on Tuesday morning. Locals recovered the bodies. The victims were identified as Tuhin Sardar, 4, son of Moni Sardar and Pinky, 5, daughter of Ashraf Mridha of village Aria Gohailbari. Family sources said they were playing near a pond around the residence premise on Tuesday morning. They were missing from about 7.00 am. Family members and the locals searched them and found their bodies in the pond. In another incident one was killed and three others injured in a clash at village in Santhia upazila of Pabna on Monday. The deceased was identified as Torab Ali, 30, son of Joyen Sheikh of village Majhgram in the Santhia upazila. Officer-in charge of Santhia police station SM Bazlur Rashid that the clash started between Torab's family and his neighbour Md. Kamal's family over a pond of the village at about 11am Monday. Kamal's son Masud along with his associates hacked the family members of Torab Ali which left four injured. Of the injured Torab died in Santhia upazila health complex. Shabila Khatun died Monday afternoon after fighting for life for nine days on the hospital bed. Quoting the family members the OC said the criminals hacked Shabila on September 9 over the past enmity. As her condition turned critical she was being taken to Pabna medical college Hospital but died on the way.
