Four minors rescued from trafficker: 1 held

Rapid Action Battallion (RAB) personnel arrested an alleged human trafficker along with four minor boys and girls from the city's Khilgaon Chowdhurypara area Friday evening. Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-3 raided the area around 7:45 pm and rescued the four minors-Akash (7), Taslima (10), Irin (9) and Rozina (7). They also arrested alleged trafficker Abul Shikder (40), reports UNB.
Once a rickshaw-puller, Shikder confessed to the interrogators that he gov involved in trafficking five years back when he got introduced with another trafficker, Quiyum, of the area. Shikder said he kidnapped some 30 children in the last five years and earned Tk 25,000 to Tk 30,000 per child.
