Four more die of dengue in 24 hrs

Four fresh dengue patients died in the last 24 hours until Tuesday morning as the number of people getting hospitalised with the mosquito-borne disease showed an upward trend in the country in recent time.
Taking them into account, the country reported a total of 74 deaths this year while the number of people hospitalised reached 21,870 including 677 in the 24-hour period.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the figures in its regular health bulletin on Tuesday.
Of the latest hospitalised patients, 462 were admitted to fifty-one public and private hospitals in Dhaka city while the remaining 215 were admitted in other regions of the country.
Currently 2,493 dengue patients-1,826 in Dhaka city and 667 in other districts-are getting treatment to recover from the disease.
DGHS data showed that the first 11 days of October witnessed 19 deaths and 5,778 hospitalised cases showing an exacerbated situation.
UNB adds: Bangladesh reported two more deaths from Covid-19 and 460 fresh cases during the same period.
The country's total fatalities rose to 29,386 with the new deaths.
