Four \\\'muggers\\\' arrested with bombs

Police arrested four suspected hijackers with bombs and other lethal weapons in Dhaka city on Tuesday. They are Hazrat Ali, 25, Jamal Hossain, 27, ‘Hridoy’, 28, and Md Riyad, 26. Police suspect their involvement in Sunday’s incident of snatching Tk 2 million from a shopkeeper after shooting him in the city’s Goran area. Khilgaon police OC Md Mostafizur Rahman said that Ali, Hossain and Hridoy were arrested while making bombs from an abandoned building in Goran. Riyad was arrested on information from the three. ‘They are members of a hijacking ring. Two handmade bombs, bomb-making materials and sharp weapons were recovered from them. ‘The four are being questioned. They will be shown arrested in a case filed over Sunday’s mugging in Goran,’ another officer of the police station said, according to a news agency.
