Four-party welcomes govt decision to lift emergency

BNP-led 4-party alliance welcomed the government decision to lift the state of emergency from December 17 and restriction on meetings from December 12, reports UNB.
"This is the victory of the people and the four-party alliance," BNP secretary general Khandaker Delwar Hossain told reporters Wednesday night after the meeting of the alliance at Khaleda Zia's Gulshan office.
Delwar said BNP and its alliance will go to December 29 parliament election with participation of all political parties.
In reply to a query, he said there is no problem with their allies on sharing of seats for the parliamentary polls.
Earlier, BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia presided over a meeting of the alliance to review of the latest political development, a day before the last date of withdrawal of the candidature for the general elections.
BNP senior leaders RA Gani, Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Barrister Maudud Ahmed and Khandaker Delwar Hossain, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Matiur Rahman Nizami, Assistant Secretary General Mohammad Qamaruzzaman, BJP Chairman Andalib Rahman and Secretary General Shamim Al Mamun and IOJ Secretary General Abdul Latif Nezami were present.
