Four-party will sit jointly in talks: BNP

BNP and its alliance partners will attend talks together with the government and Election Commission (EC), BNP secretary general Khandaker Delwar Hossain announced after the four-party meeting Tuesday, reports bdnews24.com.
BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia sat with top leaders of the four-party alliance Tuesday afternoon to discuss the general elections and dialogue with the EC.
The two-hour meeting of the alliance's top brass ended around 5.30pm.
Delwar told reporters after the meeting that the alliance would demand lifting of the emergency and national elections ahead of all others.
Khaleda's lawyer advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas told the news agency that the talks began around 3.30pm, at the home of a journalist.
Until Monday evening, the meeting was scheduled to be held in the party office at Naya Paltan. The venue was shifted in an overnight decision to the private Eskaton Garden Road residence of Shafik Rehman.
Jamaat-e-Islami chief Motiur Rahman Nizami, Khilafat-e-Majlish chairman Mohammad Ishaque, Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) chairman Andalib Rahman, BNP secretary general Khandakar Delwar Hossain, Islami Oikyo Jote secretary general Abdul Latif Nizami and BJP secretary general Shamim Al Mamun attended the meeting.
