Four selected for Nawab Salimullah Gold Medal

Four renowned persons have been selected for the Nawab Salimullah Gold Medal, 2010 to be awarded by the Oytijjo Foundation, which is working towards upholding the ideals of veteran politicians, social workers and humanists.
The four persons are former chief election commissioner Justice Md Abdur Rauf, former chairman of South East Bank Limited and philanthropist Raghib Ali, who is also a director of the International Publications Limited (IPL), the company owning The Financial Express, the editor of the Daily Naya Diganta Alomgir Mohiuddin and former Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University Dr SMA Fayez, according to a press release.
A jury panel headed by former vice chancellor of Dhaka University Prof Moniruzzaman Mian has selected Mr Rouf for the award for his contribution at the national level, Mr Raghib Ali for social services, Mr Alomgir Mohiuddin for journalism and Dr Fayez for education.
The awards, named after founder of modern Dhaka and pioneer of Dhaka University Nawab Sir Salimullah Bahadur, will be distributed in an unostentatious ceremony very soon.
