Fourteen killed in separate incidents

Fourteen persons were killed and many others injured in separate incidents in different places of the country during the last two days, report agencies.
In Chandpur, three people were killed and 30 others injured when a bus overturned at Mokimabad crossing in Hajiganj poura area Thursday morning.
The police said the bus turned turtle on the road while taking a turn at the crossing at about 10.30am leaving its helper Ibrahim Khalil and passenger Abdul Malek dead on the spot and 31 others injured.
Of the injured, six were admitted to Hajiganj health complex in critical condition where passenger Abdus Sattar died later.
A female hawker was allegedly tortured to death by her husband at Kachiara village in Faridganj Upazila early Wednesday.
A teenaged boy was killed in a road accident at Bagra Bazar in Sadar Upazila Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Russell, son of Shamsul Bepari of Bagra bazar.
In Patuakhali, a farmer was electrocuted at village Majhpara in Baufal Upazila of the district Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Abdul Latif.
In Jhalakati, body of an Imam of a mosque was found floating in a water body at Binnapara village in Sadar Upazila Wednesday.
The dead was identified as Hafez Keramat Ali, son of late Ruhul Amin of Kanunia village in Rajapur Upazila of the district.
A minor girl drowned at Kachua village in Kathalia Upazila here Wednesday.
In Sylhet, slaughtered body of a newly wed woman was recovered from near Balaganj Upazila health complex Wednesday.
In Barguna, one minor girl died of snake-bite at Gulishakhali village under Amtoli Upazila in the district Tuesday night.
In Rangamati, police recovered a body from Kapati Lake near Reserve Bazar in the district town Wednesday afternoon.
The body was identified as Jotin Bikas Chakma, son of Hirabal Chakma of Baghaichhari upazila, who went missing Monday.
In Feni, a widow was killed when an auto- rickshaw hit her at Paner Bar point on Feni-Sonagazi road Wednesday.
The dead was identified as Hajera Khatun, widow of late Abul Kashem of Charnewaz village under Sonagazi Upazila.
In B'baria, a driver of a tempo died on the spot and six of its passengers were injured in an accident on the Dhaka- Sylhet Highway at Bahadurpur in Ashuganj Upazila of the district Wednesday morning.
In Satkhira, a minor boy was killed when a passenger bus hit him on Kaliganj road at Nalta Bazar under Kaliganj upazila in the district on Wednesday, police sources said.
The victim was identified as Abdur Rahman, son of Abdul Kuddus of East Nalta village under the upazila.
