'France Annual Gala' in city tomorrow

The annual event "France Annual Gala" organised by the France-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFB) will be held on December 12 at a city hotel, the organisers said Thursday at a press conference.
According to the organisers, 11 of its members will sponsor the event along with Alliance Franchaise Bangladesh with support from the Embassy of France as a partner of the event.
The organisers said, the CCIFB works for improving the business relationship between France and Bangladesh. France is a major trade partner of Bangladesh and bilateral trade amounted to US$ 1.3 billion in 2008. Bangladesh exports to France have more than doubled in 10 years with export amounting to US$ 1.2 billion. France is ranked as the fourth largest export market of Bangladesh, the organisers also said.
This year the chamber has arranged French mime show by world-renowned artist Mr Partha Pratim Majumder who worked very closely with the legendary French mime performer Marcel Marceau. Baul and Lalon songs will also be performed at the event, the organisers said.
