France Ambassador in Dhaka Charley Causeret Saturday offered his country's help to build a nuclear power station in Bangladesh, reports UNB.
"Bangladesh can benefit from France's expertise to initiate a nuclear power policy," he said addressing a seminar titled 'Power Sector Management: Bangladesh Perspective' at a city hotel.
The offer came from a European country at a time when Bangladesh was experiencing huge power shortage that ate up about 2.0 per cent of its GDP growth.
Franco-Bangladesh Association of Scholars & Trainees (FBAST) organised the seminar where Chief Adviser's Special Assistant for Power and Energy Ministry M Tamim spoke as the special guest.
