Francophonie Week begins Thursday

A week-long Francophonie festival titled, ‘2014 Bangladesh Francophonie Week’, will simultaneously begin in Dhaka and Chittagong on Thursday. The festival will showcase French culture through film and music with a common desire to work together towards a better future. The seven Francophonie diplomatic missions in Bangladesh will host the event offering a rich programme of activities in the two major cities throughout the week. Canadian High Commissioner in Dhaka Heather Cruden, France Ambassador Michel Trinquier, Egypt Ambassador Mahomud Ezzat, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Morocco, Said Kasmi, Diplomatic Attaché, Embassy of Qatar, Abdulla Khalifa AA Al-Fadala, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Switzerland, Caroline Trautweiler and Viet Nam Ambassador Nguyen Quang Thuc formally launched the festival at a press conference at the Alliance Francaise de Dhaka on Tuesday, according to a news agency.
