Frank hattrick powers Abahani to victory

A hattrick by Ghanaian striker Twum Frank powered holders Dhaka Abahani Limited to a 4-2 goals victory over Farashganj SC in a match of the GrameenPhone Bangladesh League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) in the city Tuesday, reports UNB.
With the day's win, Abahani Limited not only retain their 2nd slot in the league table with 32 points from 14 matches, but also took sweet revenge of their defeats to Farashganj SC in the first leg of the ongoing league and also in the recently concluded Independence Cup Football.
Farashganj SC remained at 11th place with 10 points, also playing 14 matches.
Apart from Frank's three goals in the 53rd, 57th and 75th minute, Sakhawat Hossain Ronny scored one goal in the 20th minute for Abahani Limited which led the 1st half 1-0.
Sohel Rana scored both the goals for Farashganj SC in the 70th and 76th minute.
In the day's other league match, Sheikh Russel KC lost valuable points when they were held to a 2-2 draw by Rahmatganj MFS at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamlapur in the city.
Mesbahul Haque Manik and Ghanaian defender Abbas Inusah scored one goal apiece for Sheikh Russell KC in the 71st and 77th minute respectively while Idris Kasirye struck twice for Rahmatganj MFS in the 31st and 87th minute.
With the day's draw, Sheikh Russell KC secured 26 points, while Rahmatganj MFS collected 17 points, both from 14 outings.
