Free distribution of pry school books begins

Free distribution of books among primary school students began across the country Tuesday, the first day of academic calendar, reports UNB.
Divisional Commissioners at division level and Deputy Commissioners (DCs) at district level formally launched the book distribution among the students of primary schools and Ibtedaie level madrasahs for 2008 academic session.
In the three hill districts, DCs and District Councils jointly organised the distribution.
Reports from different districts said book distribution began on the first day of the academic calendar.
In Khulna, book distribution began at all 10 districts under Khulna division and all upazilas of the district Tuesday.
A total of 4,340,172 books will be distributed in 10 districts of the division during the current academic year, officials said while distributing books in the city.
Reports from Faridpur, Jhalokati, Sherpur and Comilla said book distribution began among the primary school students in these districts.
