French envoy meets CCCI leaders

CHITTAGONG, Nov 11: The French Ambassador to Bangladesh Charley Causeret termed the private sector as the driving force of socio-economic uplift of the country.
While exchanging views with the Board of Directors of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) today at Chamber house, the visiting envoy expressed the desire of his government in extending cooperation on different sectors of Bangladesh including infrastructure, energy and environment management, on receiving specific proposals. Describing the economy of Bangladesh as a rising one he thought that Bangladesh would be less affected than other countries including China and India by the ongoing global economic crisis although cooperation to developing world would likely to decline due to prevailing situation.
The French Ambassador highly praised the remarkable progress made in the pharmaceuticals, ceramic goods and shipbuilding industries of the country.
