Fresh IGP Cup National Youth Kabadi begins tomorrow

The first phase of the Fresh IGP Cup National Youth Kabadi Competition, organised by Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation, begins tomorrow (Saturday) at seven zonal venues across the country, reports UNB.
Thirty-two teams, split into seven groups, will compete in the preliminary round on September 1to September 2 at Jessore, Pirojpur, Faridpur, Pabna, Dinajpur, Mymensingh and Dhaka zonal venues.
Seven zonal champions along with defending champions Dhaka DSA will play in the eight-team final round to be held in Dhaka on September 5 to September 7 at the Kabaddi Stadium and Mirpur Indoor Stadium.
A total of 30 players - 10 from zonal round and 20 from final round -- will be picked up for higher training.
Sponsors Meghna Group of Industries will provide Tk 600,000 to run the competition.
Kabaddi Federation general secretary Nazrul Islam disclosed the details of the meet at a press conference at the National Sports Council (NSC) conference room Thursday afternoon.
Kabaddi Federation Vice-president Amir Hossain Patwari, tournament committee member-secretary MA Mannan, and Kh. A Rahman Rifat, general manager (marketing and sales) of Meghna Group of Industries were also present.
