KHULNA, Jun 23 (BSS): Khulna City Small Fruit Traders Association Monday called off its indefinite strike after an assurance given by Khulna Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI).
"We withdrew the strike after the KCCI assured us of looking into the matter. We are incurring huge losses and failing to pay wages our employees," said Gaffar Gazi, president of the association.
Anisur Rahman, a small fruit trader, told BSS, "We are very happy to see the strike called-off as most of fruits at my shop have started rotting".
Fruit retailers in the city started indefinite strike from Sunday morning in protest of ongoing anti-adulteration drive of the Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) as well as Khulna City Corporation (KCC).
