Fugitive held in Narail

Police arrested a fugitive, who was sentenced to life imprisonment by a Dhaka court in 2003, from Fayez Mor area in Lohagara upazila of Narail district on Sunday. The arrestee was identified as Parvin Begum Ruposi, 40, daughter of Abdul Khalek, a resident of Lahuria Kulupara of the same upazila. Aliur Rahman, assistant sub-inspector of Lohagara Police Station said, tipped off a team of police conducted a drive in the area and arrested Ruposi at about 11:00 am. Rupasi was sentenced to life term imprisonment in two cases filed with the capital’s Mirpur Model Police Station under the Women and Children Oppression Prevention Act in absentia in 2003, the ASI added, according to a news agency.
