Full-fledged TV studio at Natore demanded

NATORE, Mar 8: The people of Natore district and adjoining areas urged upon the government to take appropriate measures to convert the Natore TV sub-relay and transmission centre into a full-fledged TV studio. Natore TV centre was established in 1974, inaugurated by the then Information Minister Taher Uddin Thakur. The TV centre was set up on about 11 acres of land with studio room, news reader room, VTR room and projector room. Once it was a relay centre from Dhaka for 2 hours everyday. The then State Minister for Communication Md. Fazlur Rahman Patal in his speech at different public meetings assured the people of Natore that in near future the Natore TV sub-relay and transmission centre would be converted into a full-fledged TV studio. State Minister for youth and sports Md. Ahad Ali Sarker MP visited the TV centre and assured the people of Natore that in near future the Natore TV sub-relay and transmission centre would be converted in to a full-fledged TV studio last year. The conversion of Natore TV sub-relay centre into a full-fledged TV studio will help promote and develop the cultural activities of Rajshahi, Khulna and divisions as Natore is the centre point of the three divisions. Woman killed in road mishap Another report says: One old woman was killed in a road mishap at Chalkpara on Bonpara-Hatikumrul highway in Baraigram Upazila of Natore district on March 7, Monday. The deceased was identified as Bemala Bewa (70), wife of Gedu Pramanik of village Chamta in Baraigram Upazila of the district. Witnesses said the accident had taken place at Chalkpara on the Bonpara-Hatikumrul highway, when a bus hit her leaving her dead on the spot.
