Thursday, 20 December 2012

Selima Afroz Chowdhury, wife of noted writer and columnist Abdul Gaffar Chowdhury, died at a London hospital on Tuesday night. She was 71, reports UNB.
Sources in the Bangladesh Mission in London said Selima was admitted to University College Hospital in London after a cardiac arrest on December 12.
Later, she was kept on life support following deterioration of her condition due to brain haemorrhage. She breathed her last at 10:50 pm (London time).
Selima left behind her husband, four daughters, one son and a host of well-wishers to mourn her death.
Selima went to London in 1974 with her family for treatment, and settled there.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday expressed deep shock at the demise of Selima Afroz Chowdhury.
