Gaibandha chamber AGM held

GAIBANDHA, Oct 10: Annual General Meeting of Gaibandha Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) was held at its Building at Shukhnagar area of the town here on Saturday.
Mahbub Ara Begum Gini, MP, attended the function and addressed it as the chief guest and deputy commissioner M. Shahidul Islam and police super M. Shahadat Hossain were present as the special guests.
With Shajada Anwarul Quadir, president of GCCI in the chair.
Local lawmaker Mahbub Ara Begum Gini in her speech urged the business community to come forward with the attitudes to set up small and medium industries.
Describing various development schemes undertaken by the government for the district the lawmaker said the construction work of much awaited Shakoa Bridge, a vulnerable one, on Gaibandha-Palashbari Road would start at the month of November to free the tension and anxiety of the people particularly the business class.
Later, annual reports for the years of 2009-2010 were presented at the AGM and approved unanimously by the members.
