Monday, 9 July 2007

CARSON, Jul 8 (AP): Yura Movsisyan and Davy Arnaud scored in the first six minutes of the second half but Cobi Jones responded with a pair of goals to lift the Los Angeles Galaxy into a 2-2 tie with the Kansas City Wizards on Saturday night.
It marked Los Angeles' final game before David Beckham joins the team. The former England captain will be introduced by the club on Friday. The Galaxy (3-5-4) are fifth in the Western Conference, 16 points behind first-place FC Dallas.
Movsisyan scored his fourth goal of the season for the Wizards (7-5-3) in the 47th minute. Jack Jewsbury whipped a cross into the penalty area and the ball skipped past Galaxy defender Chris Klein. Movsisyan then put a 12-yard shot past goalkeeper Joe Cannon.
Four minutes later, Arnaud gave Kansas City a 2-0 lead.
The Galaxy answered 10 minutes later. Jones, who came on for Edson Buddle in the 55th minute, put a rebound into the back of the net in the 61st minute.
Jones struck again in the 75th minute when he knocked in a pass from Landon Donovan from close range.
