Gambia seeks guidance from Bangladesh

Thursday, 4 December 2014

Gambia wants to learn from Bangladesh's experience to power its own socio-economic development, the country’s visiting minister for trade, industry, regional integration and employment has said. ‘We came to Bangladesh to see, hear and learn. What we have found is completely different from the normal media fare. We have seen progress, exuberance, and vibrancy,’ Abdoulie Jobe observed. Speaking with journalists he said ‘We need to learn and draw on your expertise. We need to know how Bangladesh can help African countries particularly, Gambia to make rapid progress,’ the minister said. He stressed on alliance and investments in agriculture, food processing and packaging sectors. Jobe came to Dhaka with a high-powered business delegation on Sunday and is set to leave this (Thursday) afternoon, according to a news agency.
