Garments accessories gutted in Ctg

CHITTAGONG, March 4 (BSS): A large quantity of fabrics and garment accessories was gutted in a fire at a godown of Sunman Group at the city's Baiyezid area Thursday night. The Fire Service and the godown owner claimed that goods and valuables stored in the 1500 square feet long godown worth about Tk 5 million were burnt to ashes in the fire. Fire Service and local sources said the fire originated from electric short circuit inside the godown at around 9.10pm last night and it soon engulfed the entire gowdown. Firemen with the help workers extinguished the flame at about 15 minutes past midnight. In another incident of fire, 12 timber shops and two dwelling houses were gutted in the city's Firingi Bazar area under Kotwali Thana in the early hours Friday. The fire originated from electric short circuit and burnt large quantity of timber worth about Tk 2.50 million.
