Gas leak causes fire, burns 7 of a family in city

Seven people, including six members of a family, received burn injuries in a gas line explosion in Senpara area under Kafrul Police Station of Mirpur area in the city early Sunday. The injured was identified as Amena Begum, 25, her husband Sajib, 30, father Delwar 60, mother Saleha, 50, sister Fatema, 12, bother Jahid, 15, son Arman, and their neighbor Shah Alam. Abul Hasan, assistant sub-inspector of Kafrul Police Station, said a leaked gas line blasted at a tin-shed house – house no 590 – in Senpara Parbat area around 1am, leaving the six family members injured. Their neighbor received burn injuries when he came to help them. The injured were admitted to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, according to a news agency.
