Gas pipeline explodes into violent fire in Ctg

Chittagong, Sep 11: The pipeline of the Expanded Bakhrabad Gas line exploded into a violent fire at the middle of the Kalurghat bridge over the Karnaphuli river Tuesday night threatening two residential areas and 25 industrial units. "The fire, which broke out at about 8:30pm, was raging towards the southern side where the 25 industrial units and the two residential areas are situated," said a spot account. Firefighters from different stations rushed to the spot and tried to douse the blaze without little effect until filing the report. —UNB
