GATI Ltd, XPRESS Int'l sign deal

GATI Ltd and XPRESS International Bangladesh Ltd signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for operating GATI's business in the country announced at a conference in the city Tuesday, says a press release.
The Chief International Business Officer of GATI Sameer-Khatri, Head of SAARC and Bonded Cargo Ramamoorthy Raghupathi and Managing Director of XPRESS International Bashir AK Chowdhury were present, among others.
Under the MoU, a complete solution will be given to the customers of India and Bangladesh and the total surface transportation package, including Surface Express and the Surface Freight mode will be provided by the arrangements of both the companies.
The operations of on board courier service and airfreight service will also commence after the approval of the regulatory agencies in order to grow the GATI business in the country, said Khatri.
The companies will start their operation within a month or two after getting the necessary approvals from various regulatory bodies and commission.
The member of the trade bodies, Indian high commission, press and high officials of both the companies were present during the session.
