A brilliant century by Scott Styris steered Gazi Tank Cricketers to earn the 3rd win in their 4th match of the Walton Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League beating Cricket Coaching School by five wickets at the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city reports UNB.
In the day's another match, giant killer Prime Doleshwar SC (183 for 5 in 45.5 overs) also earned the 3rd victory in their 4th league match beating Prime Bank Cricket Club (182 all out in 48.5 overs) by five wickets at the BKSP ground in Savar.
In the other match of the day, holders Victoria SC (231 all out in 48.4 overs) outclassed Kalabagan KC (146 all out in 46.5 overs) by 85 runs at Fatullah Stadium in Narayanganj.
Winning the toss at Mirpur, Cricket Coaching School batted first to score 255 runs for 7 wickets in stipulated 50 overs with Sadman and Sri Lankan Gihan Rupasinghe both making half century.
Two down Sadman contributed team highest 73 runs off 113 balls with seven fours while Gihan Rupasinghe belted 55 runs off 30 balls with seven fours and four sixes.
Arafat Sunny grabbed three wickets for 50 runs while Rubel Hossain took two for 45 runs.
In reply, Gazi Tank Cricketers, riding on New Zealand cricketer Scott Styris' 102 runs off 119 balls with nine fours and a six, reached their target scoring 259 runs for the loss of five wickets in 49.1 overs.
Besides, national batsman Rakibul Hasan hammered unbeaten 58 runs off 51 balls with four fours and two sixes while another national batsman Imrul Kayes added useful 54 runs off 84 balls with three fours and a six.
Asif Ahmed took two wickets for 47 runs.
