Gazipur factory fire doused: 3 injured

A fire, which broke out at a spinning factory in Gazipur on Sunday morning, has been doused. The fire left three workers of Ishraque Spinning Mill injured, two of them critically. Sreepur Fire Station official Md Tashraf Hossain said the fire broke out around 6.30am in the generator room of the spinning mill. Two fire fighting units put out the blaze around 8:00am. The fire left two workers of the factory -- Md Shahjahan Mia, 26, and Md Al Amin, 19 , badly burnt while one 'Bipul', 23, was hurt when he jumped off from the 2nd floor of the factory building. Shahjahan Mia was in critical condition and has been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The factory's utility manager Milon Hossain Gazi said that the fire destroyed four generators as well as other equipment. He claimed that the losses would touch Tk 45 million, according to TV channels.
