Gazipur gas line fire victim dies at DMCH

A man, who suffered burn injuries in a fire caused by gas pipeline explosion at Sreepur upazila in Gazipur district, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Friday. The deceased was identified as Anwar Hossain, 38, an employee of a textile mill in Gazipur and hailed form Dohar upazila of Dhaka. A fire broke out at Mastarbari Bazar on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway following explosion of gas pipeline during expansion work of the highway on Thursday evening, leaving 10 people, including Anwar, inured. The explosion also damaged roadside shops, two houses and a mosque. Six of the injured were admitted to the burn unit of the DMCH where Anwar succumbed to his injuries on Friday morning.
