Gazipur rally at any cost: BNP

Despite the ruling party’s total control in Gazipur city, BNP acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Friday said they will surely hold the rally foiling all the obstacles to it, triggering an apprehension of political violence. ‘The rally will be held in Gazipur... we’ll definitely go there tomorrow (Saturday) for holding the rally and people will also gather there. It’s the government’s responsibility to ensure the opposition’s rights to peacefully hold the rally,’ said Mirza Alamgit, also the spokesperson of the BNP-led 20-party alliance. The BNP leader came up with the remarks as journalists at a press conference at their party chairperson’s Gulshan office on Friday, according to a news agency.
