Gazipur spinning mill fire doused

A fire, which broke out at a spinning mill in West Bhurulia in Gazipur city early Wednesday, was doused in the morning. However, no injury was reported. Fire service sources said the fire originated from an electric short circuit at the cutting section of Afroz Spinning Mill in Pashchim (west) Bhurulia area around 3:30am. Soon, the fire engulfed cotton godown (storage) of the spinning mill. Informed, three fire fighting units from Gazipur fire service station rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after three hours of frantic efforts. The extent of losses caused by the fire could not be ascertained immediately, according to a news agency.
