Wednesday, 16 November 2011

FE Report GermanBangla Bicycles Ltd (GBB) has opened a U.S. subsidiary in Victorville, California, as it eyes business among North American bicycle brands seeking a low cost manufacturing alternative to factories in China and Taiwan. After attending dealer camp for the last two years and discussion with USA bicycle brands and retailers, we have gathered much idea about the USA bicycle market and the American consumers' demands, ZA Group LLC, newly formed distribution and marketing arm of GBB Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sazed Alam said. "We are now ready to build partnerships with USA bicycle suppliers," he said. GBB currently manufactures bicycles for European and Japanese bicycle brands such as Onyx, Panther, and Takara, mostly for city, single and multi-speed hybrid, BMX and light MTB type models, according to the Bicycle Retailer. After surveying the American bicycle market, GBB could realise through their experiences that they can offer U.S. bicycle brands high-quality products at a price below many Chinese or other Asian bicycle suppliers, said ZA Group CEO. Bike manufacturing is one of Bangladesh's fastest growing industries, Alam said, and the Asian country near Myanmar and India is home to five large bike factories. Bangladesh is the fifth largest bicycle supplier to Europe.
