GCM renamed as GCM Resources

Saturday, 15 December 2007

The Global Coal Management (GCM) plc, which owns the Asia Energy (Bangladesh) Corporation, has again changed its name. According to an announcement of the company, the GCM from now on will be known as GCM Resources plc as per a resolution passed in its annual general meeting. The announcement made on December 12 said, "At the annual general meeting of Global Coal Management plc, the special resolution for a name change to GCM Resources Plc was duly passed," reports UNB.
It also said the change in the name is consistent with the company's strategy and corporate branding while enabling the continued use of 'GCM' as the London Stock Exchange code. All subsidiary names will remain unchanged. Sources said the slight change in the name to "GCM Resources plc" was brought because another company's name "Global Coal" was too close. The two companies agreed to further separate by changing the name slightly, they added. This is the second time the company was renamed. It was first renamed as Global Coal Management in January this year changing its original name of Asia Energy plc.
