GD Health to be launched today

Green Delta Insurance Company Limited (GDIC) will formally launch a comprehensive health insurance scheme-- GD Health-- first of its kind in Bangladesh at a city hotel today (Sunday) with collaboration of leading Malaysian hospitals.
Farzana Chowdhury, managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO) of GDIC and director of GD Assist, announced the launching at a meet the press at a convention center in the city Saturday.
The non-life insurance company of Bangladesh and the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC), a Malaysian government agency, jointly organised the meet the press.
The meet the press was addressed, among others, by Nasir A Choudhury, advisor and founder MD of GDIC and chairman of GD Assist, Ms Dolly Lim, senior manager in-charge of MHTC, Ms Shobena Singam, manager of Public Relations and Call Center of MHTC, Syed Moinuddin Ahmed, DMD and company secretary of GDIC, and Wafi SM Khan, CEO of its another subsidiary Green Delta Securities Ltd.
The new product "GD Health" will offer global emergency medical evacuation services targeting the corporate professionals and entrepreneurs, officials said.
Partnered with MHTC, the GDIC is also promoting Malaysian Healthcare Travel. Accordingly, its subsidiary --GD Assist --teamed up with some leading hospitals in Malaysia in order to provide Malaysian healthcare services to the people in Bangladesh.
To this effect, GD Assist is organising a Malaysian Healthcare Expo today (Sunday) at a city hotel, where the new health product will also be formally launched.
"We always pioneer innovative insurance products addressing the national issues. GD Health is going to be launched as continuation of that," Farzana Chowdhury said.
She also expressed her hope to render the best possible services to the people with the insurance company's prompt settlement process of claim, and with the global emergency medical evacuation services.
About the expo, she further said that stalls of about six hospitals will be at the exposition.
Ms Lim said, "The collaboration of MHTC and GDIC will enhance relationship between Malaysia and Bangladesh, and ensure quality and cost-effective healthcare services of Bangladeshi in Malaysia."
 "Healthcare travel in Malaysia is under its health ministry; we are regulated by several acts to ensure quality at all times," she added.
In a query, Ms Lim also informed that a total of 7,70,134 people from different countries traveled Malaysia for healthcare service in the last year. Of the number, around 12,000 were from Bangladesh.
