Carmudi, an online vehicle marketplace, has re-designed its website-- www.carmudi.com.bd -- in Bangladesh, enabling the buyers and sellers to search the right partners and automobiles in an easier way.
"We've re-designed the website here as part of the simplifying our online platform in all the 19 countries having our presence," Syed Ashiqur Rahman, country manager of Carmudi, said at a website re-launching ceremony at the National Press Club in the city.
The event was addressed, among others, by Russell T Ahmed, senior vice president of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Service (BASIS), and Muhammad Khan, president of Bangladesh IT Journalist Forum (BIJF).
Mr Rahman said, "New Carmudi platform will ensure that anyone will be able to upload their cars and bikes in just one minute in the simplest way. It will enable you to compare different brands in terms of colour, price and mileage etc. You can also get notification of a specific car and bike brand anytime someone wants to sell it."
Appreciating the online vehicle marketplace, Mr Russell underscored the need for imposing control on such companies to prevent false and inflated information about the cars and bikes posted online.
Referring to an allegation surfaced in the sector that stolen cars and bikes are displayed online for sale in some cases, Mr Russell called upon Carmudi to remain cautious about it.
In order to protect interest of the customers, he urged Carmudi to have a special call/help center for solving complains from its customers if they are cheated in buying or selling cars and bikes online.
Carmudi country manager later told the FE over cell phone, "We have a plan to open a help centre when such allegations increased to a level. So far, we will be able to do so in 2015."
Started its journey in Bangladesh about eight months ago, Carmudi is the vehicle classified of Rocket Internet, world's largest internet incubator based in Germany, officials said.
